Publications at the Faculty of Medicine

Research Culture and Output

Research is a foundational pillar of the Faculty of Medicine’s academic mission. Academic staff and postgraduate students contribute regularly to peer-reviewed biomedical literature, with publications spanning clinical medicine, public health, laboratory sciences, basic medical sciences and medical education. Members of faculty serve on editorial boards of national and international journals, as well as external examiners and reviewers for granting bodies and professional colleges.

Research Facilities

Research infrastructure includes the Molecular Research Laboratory at the Okofia Campus, pharmacology and pathology research laboratories at the Teaching Hospital site, and access to ELISA, spectrophotometry, centrifugation, electrophoresis and other analytical platforms. The Faculty encourages collaborative research with national and international partners and welcomes enquiries from institutions seeking joint research initiatives.

Research for Life: E-Library Access

All registered staff and students of the Faculty have access to the HINARI and RESEARCH FOR LIFE electronic journal and database platforms, providing connectivity to thousands of biomedical research publications from leading global publishers — at no cost to individual users — in support of evidence-based practice and scholarly research.
