The Department conducts departmental and individual research and maintains a fully furnished secretariat with its own operational budget. It operates a discrete undergraduate lecture schedule and manages its own staff appraisal and performance management processes in addition to the University-wide appraisal management process. Students rotate through the Department of Anaesthesiology at the 600 level of the MBBS programme, gaining practical and theoretical exposure to perioperative medicine, pain management, critical care and resuscitation.
