Overview
In addition to the undergraduate MBBS degree, the Faculty of Medicine and its constituent faculties support a range of postgraduate programmes. These include Masters (MSc) and Doctoral (PhD) programmes in selected disciplines, as well as clinical postgraduate residency training accredited by the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria and the West African College of Physicians and Surgeons.

Clinical Postgraduate Residency Training
The Faculty’s clinical departments host postgraduate residency training programmes in Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Ophthalmology, Community Medicine, Anaesthesiology, Radiology, Internal Medicine, Mental Health and Haematology, among others. These programmes are accredited by the relevant Nigerian and West African postgraduate medical colleges and prepare residents for fellowship examinations.
