MDCN Conduct MBBS/BDS Re-accreditation / Accreditation at Medical School of UNIZIK

A team of 17 medical academics from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria arrived Nnamdi Azikiwe University on Sunday the 20th of Sept 2026 for the re-accreditation of the MBBS program and accreditation of the BDS (Dental Surgery) program. The team lead by the Deputy Registrar of MDCN, Dr N. U. Nwakamma was hosted to a dinner by the vice-Chancellor, Prof USB Anyaehie. The team took a tour of the facilities of the medical school on Monday, 21st Sept 2026. They visited the College of Health Sciences Okofia where the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences operates. they visted the College site at the temporary site where the Faculties of Basic Clinical Sciences and Dentistry are cited. The team went on to visit facilities of the Faculty of Medicine at the NAUTH permanent site and later to the outstation of the hospital where the Community Medicine Department operates its rural posting training. Earlier in the day, the team had paid a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor, Prof. USB Anyaehie and then the Chief Medical Director of NAUTH, Prof J. O. Ugboaja, OON. The team were conducted around by the Vice Chancellor, Prof Anyaehie; the Provost of the College, Prof JKC Emejulu; the deputy Provost, Prof Ejeatuluchukwu; the Deans of the medical school - Prof I.I. Mbachu, Prof C. E. Ilo and Prof V. Igbokwe. The team will continue its activities on Tuesday, the 22nd of Sept 2026.
